     The Ranch is located in the Illinois River Valley and is open year around.  The area offers many attractions and activities no matter what the season.  The Illinois River and I & M Canal are less than 4 miles away, La Salle lake is only 7 miles and Hiedicke Lake is only a 30 minute drive.  These areas provide a wide variety of fishing and lots of activities for all ages.  Illinois State Parks, Starved Rock, Buffalo Rock and Silver Springs, are only a short distance from The Ranch and provide opportunities for walking, biking and sight seeing.  There are many challenging golf courses within just a few minutes drive from the ranch.

Summer festivities abound in the surrounding communities and culminate with the Sandwich Fair in early September.

The Department of Natural Resources performed a fish census on both of our lake during May, 2007.  A fish census consists of taking a sample of over 100 fish from each lake, weighing and measuring each fish and charting the results.  Good News!! The sample showed that there are fish from 1-5 years of age in our lakes - the largest bass sampled was over 18" long and weighed over 3 pounds.  The largest bluegill was over 8" in length.  Lots of great fish out there - just waiting to be caught.
